Crispy Doritos-shell tacos stuffed with seasoned beef, melty cheese, and fresh toppings – ready in just 20 minute


📝 Ingredients

For the Shells

  • Soft taco shells: 4 small
  • Doritos: ¾ bag (any flavor), crushed into crumbs
  • BBQ or buffalo sauce: 6 tbsp

For the Filling

  • Ground beef: 500g (will have leftovers)
  • Brown onion: ½, diced
  • Taco seasoning: 2 tbsp

Toppings

  • Shredded lettuce: 1 cup
  • Cheddar cheese: ¾ cup, shredded
  • Sour cream: 4 tsp
  • Salsa: 4 tsp
  • Fresh coriander: for garnish (optional)

👩‍🍳 Method

1️⃣ Prep the Shells:

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Crush Doritos into fine crumbs. Spread on a plate.
  • Drizzle BBQ/buffalo sauce on another plate.
  • Dip one side of each tortilla into sauce, then press into Doritos crumbs.

2️⃣ Bake:

  • Hang coated tortillas on a wire rack (to form a taco shape).
  • Bake for 10 mins until crispy.

3️⃣ Cook the Filling:

  • While shells bake, sauté onion and beef with taco seasoning until browned.

4️⃣ Assemble:

  • Fill shells with beef, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and coriander.
